Modern Franciscan Values
Francis of Assissi (pronounced "ah-seez'-ee") was a product of Love, but also of his time. He taught the very traditional "virtues" of poverty, chastity, and obedience to the Church. Were he alive today, he would modify these: Poverty would be modified to simplicity, chastity to monogamy, and obedience would be to the inner Light, not the church.
