How right you are about my Soulmate, who has made this life far better than we could or would have ever predicted!:) She is gentle cool clear water on a planet that is so often a harsh superheated desert.:)
Re the transplant, we have come to cease expecting anything from the docs, who almost never communicate "from on high;" and their nurses are useless when it comes to information re the timing of the transplant, guarding any with their lives as a "deep, dark secret." This is ludicrous to absurd. So, we have come to expect precisely nothing from either group; when it is convenient for them, they might let us know; just hope that we have time to prep and pack!:)
There is little to no empathy in the entire system of modern medicine; the whole interaction has been computers speaking "digitese" to other computers; hardly a human communication has occurred. In fact, I have received not a single email message from any doctor or any nurse from thebeginning.
This proves how far medicine has drifted from healing; for, in healing, the human aspect, especially the alleviation of suffering, is always in the top one percent of cares; in this ultratechnical system, the human element is eradicated as far as possible. No wonder that they are planning to use robots for surgery; that will rid the system of its last technical imperfection-- human input. Medicine, already frosty and snowy, just gets colder.
You are right on target, by the way, in your hard-earned lesson that there are people to whom you can give Love, and those to whom you cannot. To find those "hungry" and "thirsty" for Love-- in both its giving and receiving-- is truly a blessing. But trying to love Martha [pseudonym] and her ilk is a spectacular waste of timenergy, and of even life itself. For she still has very much growing to do, and it is not likely that she can accomplish this during one little lifetime.
So, to sum up, we are where we began: in the dark. But we have promised the Spirit that we will attempt an honestly Taoist attitude towards this entire matter of the transplant: Just trust and wait, not fret, worry, or manipulate. And the reward has been increased peace.:)

Notes on Indian History: the Ruler Ashoka
It is awesome that the Indus Valley civilization can be traced all the way back to c. 2900 BC, while ancient Hebrew tradition, by contrast, goes back to only about 2000 BC. I learned a little about the cities of Mohenjo-Daro and Patina. I also learned about the ruler Chandra-Gupta.
I was very positively impressed by the historical records of Ashoka, a later ruler, a man from whom our current American government could learn several invaluable lessons in compassion. He was a very brilliant supporter and defender of nonviolence; he had learned very much from the terrible and bloody war of Kalinga. He established an entire beautiful political order founded on nonviolence and compassion. He wrote a famous document which became the fore-runner to the U.N. Declaration of Human Rights. All human beings, he wisely said, were one family.
He established the first Animal Rights legislation in history, cared for the poor and elderly, and the sick and ill. (India still has one of the oldest animal hospitals in the world.) For the sake of animal-compassion, he officially promoted vegetarianism. He realized that people reveal their true selves with animals, who cannot report them, and cannot seek vengeance. His reign united the known world in
peace, like Solomon the great mystic had done in his own time (c. 1000 BC). He also worked to create peace among many religions. His goal, he said, was to pursue and manifest dharma, the law of all life. (The "Wheel of Ashoka" is the symbol on the modern Indian flag.) He managed to allow to survive the rhino and the porpoise, among many other species.
Tragically, later, in the Middle Ages in India, Buddhism was allowed to die, in the land of its birth.

Time and Light

The world unfolds in Light within the heart, telling us of endings that are beginnings, and new starts that are the end of the road. Inebriated by the Light of Love, we persist in bioforms of nanoseconds; soon they pass by, and away we fly! Each instant is a flower of Love, each a blossom of Light, as we drink in the minutes, hours, and days. But how and when are we finally sated? "She who knows that enough is enough always has enough." And I think at times that I've also had enough. But only Sister Time will answer all inquiries, and bring sweet peace to overflowing within every heart. We can't wait!

The Sermon on the Mount, Part VIII of XL

TEXT: Continuing with Matthew 5: 21.
COMMENTARY: This is yet another, rather dramatic, reference to
karma-- this time, in its more hellish forms. Insulting others, creating personal scandal or libel, is a very serious error ("sin"). It leads to some heavy-duty karma. Jesus says that it is analogous to even murder!
Instead, we are supposed to forgive each other of errors and mistakes.
This means to behave as if they never happened! This frees us from some scary karma!
TEXT:
COMMENTARY: Worship ("altar") is ineffective if we are not at peace with other human beings. Performing ceremonies of worship is unacceptable as long as we do not have peace with other human beings.
Worship is sullied, contaminated, and polluted by this absence of peace.

Praying for Peace on Earth

The One, the Mind of purest Love, is in no way limited by our ideas of time, nor is She limited by our concepts of "cooperation." When it comes to the sweet Goddess, Her will is always done, no matter what we do or do not do. I must object to those who believe that, and act as if, the divine will depends upon our actions and our prayers. This is definitely putting the cart before the donkey!:):) The Goddess loves and welcomes our prayers, and our silent internal communications. But much damage has
been created by the simple words, "Prayer changes things." For prayer is designed to change the heart, softening it for Love, but is not a form of "magic" that is designed to alter the world. For the deepest, and truest, "prayer" is any thought of Love for any living being.
Still, human cooperation in Love is a beautiful thing.:) It is also wonderful when human beings cooperate, in Love and in prayer. And praying for peace is also beautiful. But, to be a genuine expression of divine and universal Love, we must not "take sides" in any earthly conflict, for there are no "good guys" on the bloody battle-fields; to think otherwise is simple bigotry and naivete. So, yes, my dear friend, you can count on the fact that all people of peace will continue, every day and every night, to ppray that human beings finally find common sense, compassion, balance, and peace.
