TV Review: "Millennium"

This one-hour series was produced, not surprisingly, near the Millennium's beginning, from about 1998-2000. It is probably too intense for the sensitive, as it takes a scorpionic look into the twisted minds and motives of killers.
In one episode, the audience is encouraged to think about a most important subject: Does a person have the "right to die" in dignity rather than suffer through years of pain and agony? Even more to the point, does any doc have the right to assist a person to leave this world?
The star of the series, the character called Frank Black, comes down on the side of the establishment. Frank is a profiler for the fbi, and uses his psychic gifts to fill in the blank areas. The "criminal" in this case is a former doctor, a young African American blessed with a beautiful and wonderful vision of the eternity of life, and its continuity after death into other "planes." He is filled with both
compassion and faith, but these spiritual powers are being abused; he is interfering with the rights that others-- several old and suffering people-- have to make their own life-and-death decisions.
But as noble as his motives might be, Frank correctly points out that his actions, in helping people to find blessed release from this world, are legally (and morally) "murder." When a cop refers to this doc as "a saint," Frank replies, "Or worse."
Although of course, everyone must leave this planet, this must always be a personal decision; it must never be made by one person for another. This is, in fact, the one datum that transforms the otherwise beautiful and loving act into murder: Some of the older people whom the doc tries to "help," although in great pain, might not be ready or willing to leave, for whatever reasons. And they are given this right by the universe.
Like this doc, many of us share strong feelings about the "right to die with dignity." Still, we must never impose these feelings upon others; no one has that right. This activity is often called "playing God," and it is ironic, for it is actually God (Love) "playing human." But, still, the action of intervening and taking another sentient life violates all the rights which any living creature has. It bulldozes over their rights and ignores their value as separate and independent
individuals.
It is therefore immoral, no matter how fine the motivation might be. (In this story, the doc himself suffers from a terminal disease, and clearly wants to take advantage of the option for selfeuthanasia.) This too, is illegal, for our entire culture and society are terrorized by death-- to the point where many will not even discuss the "horrific" subject. This is obviously an unhealthy extreme, as is the other extreme of assuming that anyone has the right to make this intensely personal decision for another.

Life, Death, and Love

I do not feel that your son died in pain. If indeed he died from a diabetic coma, that is a very "easy death." It is very much like going to sleep. You should know that I have given this some deep thought at a Soul-level, for it is an "emergency exit" plan for this current body, which is diabetic.

Some would argue that there are no "pleasant" ways to leave the earth. But the fact is, we all must leave at some time. So, the Soul, often before birth, builds into the dna a method for exiting the body when the time is right. Your son's Soul "built into" his body the genetic pattern that allowed a peaceful death. For there are many nightmarish ways to die, and only a few serene ones.

As a spiritual person, I deeply empathize with your pain and suffering; yet I must also remind you, and myself, that death is a major transformation, a new beginning, and the chance for a new life. Death is not the "end" of everything, as some materialists and mechanists claim. (And they have no "proof" of this.)

The ancient mystical classic Bhagavad-Gita says that death is like changing clothes.

We have come to see it as an unmitigated terror and horror precisely because we have fallen very deeply into amnesia. In the Soul's amnesia, which is part of the will of Love, we forget that we are immaterial, nonphysical Souls, and come to regard ourselves as only mechanisms or developed animals. We are much, much more than both. And very much in modern thanatological (death-) studies implies that the mind does indeed, as mystics have always said, survive the body. We literally have tens
of thousands who have returned from death to tell us that Mind continues after death.

Death is not only a "survivable" experience, but an entry into ecstasy and immeasurable joy. And Love is greater than death; the Love-bonds continue between mother and son, as between other relatives and friends. You will see your son again, happy and alive. Meantime, he wants you to live out your fullest and most productive life; he also wants you to find the most joy that you can create in your life on earth.

Earth is a very difficult and challenging school. God says that it is okay, just fine, if we stop believing in Her, or even, for a time, lose all motive to live and to serve. She does not condemn us, and the spark of Love that She creates in our hearts never goes out. It simply waits, with unimaginable patience, to be fanned into a warm flame of expressed Love.

In the shorterm, it might be therapeutic to form special bonds with other people, or other creatures; this is what your son wants for you.

Lovenergy changes forms many times during a life, but It never dies. So, you can take the Love of your beautiful heart, and enrich many lives with it; our poor little planet is starving for Love.

Permission to Die in Peace

The following is only one potential, possible model for a document, to be kept with your "Living Will," that declares your declaration of your right to die with dignity. It states that you do not want to be kept alive indefinitely in a vegetative state.

I have cultivated, over many years, a most firm and reliable, dependable belief in the continued existence of the Soul (as Soulmind) after biological death. This is based on the teachings of Jesus, Gautama Siddhartha, and other wise mastersages.
I believe that the essence of life, and life-quality, are matters of mind, not the body alone. And, while deeply intertwined and related, the mindsystem and bodysystem are not identical. Nor does the mindsystem depend on the biocontinuity of the bodysystem, but exists independently of it. Thus, the mind can and does continue living, and creating quality of life, after the body is dead—even long afterwards. Therefore, this document is created in order clearly to express my desire not to be maintained in a biostate of "life" indefinitely when the bodymind systems have become vegetative or irreversibly unproductive.
The mind does not depend on the body, although the brain does. (The relationship between brain and mind is very complex; but as mind can exist without body, it can also exist independently of any brainsystem, and it does.
I hereby express my free-will decision, being of sound mind and body, without any restraint, influence, or pressure of any kind, the following:

This body, the body of _____________________ [your name], is not to be kept "alive" biologically in continuity, preserved as only a biological unit. If, at any time during this life, this body loses the ability meaningfully to cognize, recognize, think, create, write, speak, or any other valuable mode of expression, the body is to be terminated with my expressed approval and full permission. I believe that the quality of a life is more significant than is the biological maintenance or continuity of a life. Therefore, it follows that, should any factor(s) significantly compromise this quality of life, especially by cutting off meaningful, regular intercommunications with others; or if biological life steals away selfrespect, dignity, selfawareness, compassion, or Love, then, this life will be of little to no value to me.
And I order that this biological life be terminated.
This can occur through an overdose of oxycodon, hydrocodon, codeine, morphine, or any other sedative, euphoric, or relaxant drug.

Thoughts on bush and bushies

The bushies and their ilk not only ignored the middle class, but made actual, deliberate attempts to destroy it, leaving in our country only the very rich and the very poor.

They tried to dissolve the very backbone of our society and culture.

What might be even worse, they did everything possible to destroy, or to allow the destruction of, the ecology, our very Mother Earth. (As it is right now, it will take at least fifty years to undo all the damage done by bush and bushies.)

That was the administration ruled by greed alone, without a single thought of "compassion" for the people. Not only are bushies responsible for a million deaths in the Middle East, but for over four thousand American girls and boys in their insane oil-war, also based on greed. And they will kill many more Americans, through activation of respiratory diseases and toxic reactions to chemical pollution. These include allergies, emphysema, bronchitis, asthma, lung cancer, and others.

If there is anything to the old superstition of "demons," the bushies fill the bill completely. While strutting and parading, at every opportunity, their "pro-life" position, they have been violently and consistently anti-life from the beginning. The most "pro-life" position is Love, and their activity has been antiagapic since the beginning. The figures that we have heard, for example, take the tally of this insane war to over three trillion (three million million) dollars!

The ecological costs have been even more absurd and destructive in many ways, on many levels. When corporations rule the government, that is the very definition of "fascism." So bush et al are fascists. It will be an enormous joy and relief to get this monster and his brainless cronies out of office! The entire world will heave one gigantic sigh of relief!:):)

Doggie Death

Thousands of dogs and cats are killed each day, by essentially good people who really like, or even love, these little creatures. They simply reproduce too fast for their natural environments to be able to sustain them, so blame "nature," if you must.

Thanks for the article by the dog-killer who so hates his "terrible" job. You are right on target, my dear friend: I am tearing up after having read the piece about the death of the sweet dogs and cats. There is a little tiny bit of comfort in knowing that all living things must die, and in the belief, which is shared with the tormented writer, that all creatures go to a much better existence in the Mindworlds (Homeworld or heaven). Without this very sustaining belief, this earth could drive us mad with its injustices and unfairness. But all does find equilibrium in the infinite Mind of Love.

Thanks for this really thoughtprovoking article, despite its sadness. We are planning to publish it in the December 08 issue of Lovelight magazine, to alert our readers, many of whom are incurable cat- and dog-lovers, as I am also.

I always had a dog growing up, and having shared Love with these sweet little creatures was one of the first experiences of Love in this world. It is a treasure beyond computing, and I cannot believe that it all goes for naught, that all that great Love is simply wasted time. It is, instead, an investment in eternity, in everlasting friendship. For dogs live forever in Soul, and so do we.:):)

Death as Love's Servant; Illness as Death's Servant

This donkey, for years, has accepted on sheer faith, that its suffering from a chronic condition of less-healthy health was somehow "good." But its goodness remained hidden until recently.

For recently, an opportunity to leave this world behind did beckon, at times, rather strongly. Although, of course, there is always much that we seem to "lose" when we leave this world, the overall gain is so much greater to make it obvious that death is the servant of Love, not of the "devil," or fear, Love's conceptual opposite.

But how, exactly, does death serve Love? Squeezed into a tight emotional corner, the donkey was forced to ask this question until his "inner ears" rang, and then, threatened to fall off!:) To answer this question became a passion!

But one evening, the answer finally dawned: Here is how death serves Love: Death is not a "terrible" or even "bad" event. Although we do lose everything of this world, that loss is only temporary. Indeed, when twenty years pass on earth, that is only a few minutes in the afterlife state ("Homeworld").

Death serves Love by totally erasing all mistakes and errors, or by educating us out of them, through karmic consequences. It liberates us all into a brand-new world with the clean slate of a new beginning. Death introduces us to incomprehensible mercy, incredible forgiveness, and the complete awakening of, and to, grace. This is Love in its most "saving" or rescuing form; ultimately, Love liberates us from even this whole world of frustration, disappointment, dream, and nightmare. This makes death the servant of Love. This removes death from the category "bad," and places it in the opposite"-- "Good." In a word, death is a good thing.

But, locked and lost in the world of illusion, it is very, very difficult for us to wrap our minds around this stunning new perspective. What is "stunning" is the idea that death is sunny-- not a curse which throws the mind into a black, bottomless pit. For, instead, it awakens the Mind to a dazzling new identity as an immortal and nonmaterial Soul. We must reverse, within ourselves, the entire idea that death is bad, or that it is "punishment" for sin, created by a vicious and merciless god.

We need to begin to embrace death as a great gift instead. This is how Jesus, the Buddha, and other great mysticsages viewed death. And this is why so many mysticsaints died willingly-- or at a very early age. If the idea of death as "good" sounds a little nutty, it is-- by the standards of society and culture. But this is the very charge made by those ancient champions of logic, the Romans, against the early Christians, who often claimed that they could hardly wait to die!

This is how death serves Love. And disease (genetic or otherwise) serves death. How can this be good?

This is how: Sooner or later, we all need to leave this planet, this tiny life, in order to enter what some mystics call "the real life," the gigantic life as a supernatural and superhuman being, a nonphysical Soul that is already millennia old, and that lives always in perfect tranquility and utter bliss.

If we happen to be "blessed" with a deadly (lethal) condition, then, the problem of our leaving the earth is greatly simplified. For if it is the case that our bodies are trying to signal us that our time on earth is over, all that we have to do is nothing. For if we do nothing, then, nature takes over, and we leave this world.

A comedian once quipped, "I love nature, but I think she is trying to kill me!" Yes, nature is "trying to kill" everyone; and, ultimately, she does indeed bring us to the point of biodeath (which is not "psychodeath" or "pneumodeath.")

If we of Tao, when our time comes, simply relax into our bioprocesses, with fullest trust (faith) in the great and invisible Tao-Mind that controls all things, then, we can leave the planet in peace by simply allowing nature to "take her own course."

The Taoist is no fanatic. She does not drop all health-giving vitamins, minerals, herbs, or drugs, for they can make her life much richer; and if she is not willing to leave the planet-- if, for example, she thinks that her personal Tao is wanting her to stay on earth for a few more years-- then she continues to "resist nature," or act decisively out of selflove: She continues with the vitamins, medicines, etc. For taking her meds is a form of Love (selflove).

But things are very different when she hears the call of the Infinite, deep within the Mind, telling her that it is indeed her time to "go Home." When she hears this, and only when she hears it with crystal-clarity, then, she is free to stop taking the drugs, vitamins, or other supplements that "interfere healthily with nature" to keep her alive through chemical or "artificial" means.

She does not have even to face the terribly complex problems that face arguments for euthanasia, selfsuicide, doctor-assisted suicide, and related areas of enormous complexity. For, when she knows without doubt that she is being called to the Life far beyond this one, all that she has to do is nothing. For doing nothing, if she has a serious illness, is the easiest, the most effortless, solution in the entire cosmos. This is how weakness, or disease, can be the real gift of a loving God. If
she does nothing, in the most perfect Taoist sense, she will leave the earth. This is the great, and usually secret, immense blessing hidden within disease.

Btw, "disease" is so much more than mere "dis-ease." When you are battling disease, it is not reducible to saying, "I am uncomfortable." Much greater, often enormous, pain can result from disease (which is why some metaphysicists are so terrified of it). Some rather foolish people have tried to so reduce it, but it has many and complex roots, in both this life and previous ones.

When our time to leave does come, let us all hope that we are grown-up enough to approach the inevitable free of fear, and even saying "okay" to death itself. Silently praying, a million times, "Thy will be done," we can enter even the deathexperience without terror and horror. If we are very lucky-- or blessed-- God will provide a Way for us to leave by doing nothing!

The Passing of a Friend

The passing of our friend Frank occurred just the way he had always prayed, and sincerely hoped, that it would. He exited painlessly, in his sleep. We had often discussed the subject of exiting in general, and he had always said what so many say: "I do not fear death; but it is what precedes death that can be uncomfortable. I'd really like to leave painlessly, in my sleep, if possible." So, his exit, although sad for those left behind, was the answer to a prayer-- his.:)

The Joy of Death

It is not for nothing that there is a very popular and common saying, "The good die young." In so many ways, it is a great blessing to leave this world fairly early, instead of agonizingly dying a few cells at a time, from "old age." In many ways, that is the easier way out!

The bottom line is, We all have to get out of here! No one lives on earth; we are all "jvtp"-- just visiting this planet."! And, in the vast and immense universe, earth is considerably smaller than a molecule!

Early Christians were believed "nuts" because they welcomed death, with genuine smiles and open arms! This was so very alien to their culture, as it is to ours! But if we keep in mind the deeper, spiritual meaning and results of "death," we can see that those who leave earth behind are losing nothing, and gaining everything!

Jesus came to prove that death was a survivable experience!

Death and Learning

When a person "dies in her sins," as all people must leave this world in a state of imperfection, she picks up right where she left off. This is why a desperate suicide is such a futile effort. You cannot "run" from or "escape" your imperfections by dying. If you fail a "test" on earth, God (Love) does what any good teacher does: She gives the same test again. So, the next time that you come to earth, the next time your Soul is sent here from the Homeworld ("heaven"), you will again meet the same Souls as you knew previously, and you will have to work out precisely the same problems. If, for example, you hate another, with seething and relentless hatred, that person might be your spouse. (Love can as easily, and more positively, bind you to a Soulmate, and that is much more pleasant.)

All people, from one perspective, "die in their sins." But, from the view of grace, all our sins are forgiven. So, from the view of God (Love), we do not die "in our sins," but in a forgiven state of purity.

But this is not "earned" purity, but purity bestowed by grace. If, although living in grace, we continue to hold fear or its twin, hatred, in our heart, then we must pick up and return to "school," at exactly the "exam" that we failed before.

Spiritual Ideas

Because of the philosophy of Love, I know that "your" challenges are also mine, and so, I plan to do my best to provide honest feedback. But I have zero interest in being anyone's "daddy," and no interest in telling anyone what they "should" do. I want only to comment.:)

Embracing "the good" is a very simple, but reliable and dependable, guideline for life, and I'm in one hundred percent agreement! There is, counter to worldender propoganda, so very much good and beauty in this world. It is everywhere full of God (Love and beauty). As the Tibetans say, It is an extremely great privilege to have been born human!:)

Why are humans here? We are here to continue our long education. We were, in the beginning, sent forth from the Mind of Love as "separate" nonphysical Souls. The great Mind (of God, Love) decided to dream up this world, and to allow all Souls to "dream" that we are "physical" bodies. (But the very latest discoveries in neophysics have demonstrated that a "physical, material" universe is an illusion of the senses.) When we study matter at the quantum (subatomic) level, we find that it is all energy. There is not a "truly solid" object in the entire universe.
And this is according to skeptical scientists, not mystics!

In this dreamworld, we dream up exactly the situations, objects, and environments needed for our "tailored" education-program. The "material" world is an illusion, but all minds are real. Because of this, all creatures who partake of Mind-- especially human beings-- are sacred. So, we must honor and respect each one with the maximum Love.

But how can we "love" strangers? The very minimum Love that we can give, even to all strangers, is to wish them well. We can sincerely bless them, honestly hoping and praying that their lives are filled with Light, Love, tranquility, bliss, friendship, fulfilling work, balanced emotions, and healthy spirituality, among a whole list of other goods.

Why do we hurt/kill one another? The Enlightenment Traditions teach that there is no such thing as an "innocent victim." While Love does impel us to remove, or alleviate, all suffering for all creatures-- and never to be apathetic or complacent-- we must realize that suffering is a part of human life and experience. We need this realization to be able to live sanely in a pain-filled world such as ours. But Love always calls upon us to care deeply, and to remove suffering whenever, wherever, and with whomever we find it. People often suffer because, at the Soul-level, they created suffering for others. Or, before you were born, you were able to select the dna (for you could "read" this complex molecule) that would give you a body that would permit you to take lessons that you needed to learn. The "Soul" is a deep, and unconscious, part of the mind. It is that part of yourself that lived before the birth of your present body ("preincarnation"), and it is the part that continues to live after "death" of the present body ("postincarnation"). Both "preincarnational" and "postincarnational" life was taught by early Christians. In fact, almost all the earliest Christians believed in "polybiography," or "reincarnation." This vast, rather complex, philosophy is the only explanation that elucidates in meaningful ways the existence of suffering. The majority of the human population, at any time in history, has accepted it. It is not only a logical explanation for the world of suffering, but it also "feels" right, with intuitive understanding.

Who will rescue/deliver us from this horrific world? Love will rescue us. Although in modern psychology, Love has not been defined as a "Who," in former cultures, It was always recognized as a "god" or "goddess." And in Christianity, Love is God. (1 Jn. 4:8,16) God is all the Love and positivity in all the minds on all the planets in all the starsystems in all the galaxies! So, God is vaster, more immense, breath-takingly enormous and beautiful, than anything that our poor three pounds of gray matter can comprehend. God is Love, and Love is God.

Love awakens us to galaxies of beauty within our own minds, and to the magnificent beauties in the world all around us. Yes, there is still "evil" in our world of relativity and duality. But knowing that "evil" has no absolute reality weakens it, and strengthens absolute Love.

In Christianity, "salvation"-- we are "saved" from ignorance and the lower, humanimal nature-- comes not through mere education, or actions, or goodness, but from "grace." Grace is the unearned, undeserved Love of God. We are "saved," not because we know the "right" doctrines. We are saved, the Scriptures repeatedly teach, because of one factor, and one factor alone, and that is the grace of God. Her Love is greater than any,and all, sins. God's Love is illimitable and immeasurable, great enough to forgive any and all imperfections, and even all deliberate badness.

If there is no Jehovah God, who is there? The very same answer comes from the intercultural Enlightenment Tradition. There is Love, the greatest, most irresistible Force or Mind in the universe! Nothing and no one can stand, in the longterm, against It/Him/Her. (God is, of course, neither male nor female, so "God" and "Goddess" are both options.)

The enlightened person, of course, still has Jesus in her life. She can still choose to follow Jesus, to take him seriously as a model. But she has more, not less, than the average person. For she also has, as bearers of truth, the Buddha, Lao Tzu, Patanjali, Al Arabi, Al Hallaj, Solomon, and many other saintmystics and teachersages.:)

How can we prevent sickness and death? We cannot always prevent them. But the idea that they are universally "bad" is the result of social programming. Sickness is said to be "bad" because it can lead to death-- which is always bad. But if death is viewed as completely natural-- as natural as the dew-kissed rose blossoming in the morning sun-- then, sickness (biological challenge and imperfection) can be reinterpreted as "our way out of here." It can be seen as a liberator, if we believe that there is a better life after this one. This is the view held famously by early Christians, and which made them glad, deliriously happy, to die, even in the horrible arena. For an enlightened person, with a large spiritual overview, there is no such thing as a "bad death." The great beauty of Hospice is that they are helping people to embrace death in a healthy way. Every creature that has ever been born has died. Birth is a guarantee of death. So, as long as we buy into the antispiritual idea that death is horrible, a nightmare, we can never know true joy. Jesus came to prove that death is a survivable experience. Death leads to only bottomless joy and incredible peace. I have died twice, and come back to our world to share this message.:)

Sickness can teach the lessons of compassion-- what this life is all about-- in two ways: 1) when we are sick, this gives us compassion for others who are also sick, and 2) sickness creates a sympathetic response (Love) from others. It also, btw, creates needed awareness of the necessity for selflove, to take care of our own sacred bodies.

AND who can we now trust instead of organized religion? It takes time to learn to trust Love. It takes time even to discover Love at the Center of all minds. It takes time to learn that god is Love, and not some comfortable, familiar human image (anthropomorphism), such as the all-too-human Jehovah, who has a plethora of weaknesses. We are like infants learning to walk. When we first let go of our parents, we are very wobbly. But with practice, we soon grow strong. As we trust Love, we learn that It is a wonderful, beautiful, supportive Power greater than any primitive, superstitious godimage. It is more reliable and dependable. It can never harm anyone, and does not "punish." It subtly draws us into enlightenment, one moment at a time, until we find that we are superstrong and completely spiritually independent! So, in the beginning, we must "jump into a void," or empty chasm, the black cave of the Unconscious. We are certainly not certain even that "anyone" is there. But, after we have begun to trust (in faith), we learn that we are in the warm, comfortable, invincible, invulnerable arms of Love. But we cannot "trust" only what has been "proved." While we never want to abandon the rational, we must "trust in faith" before we have any certainty of our relationship with the Lovegoddess. Like delicious food, the Goddess of Love is known only one minute at a time. This is good news, for it means that we must handle, take care of, not an entire life, but only this minute!

There is so much more that could be, needs to be, said! In fact, I've written twenty books to try to explain, or at least to outline, all the beautiful discoveries that await everyone in the Mind. I'll be glad to send you one, if you are interested. And if not, that is okay too!:):)

Jesus' Death and Resurrection

Jesus' Death and Resurrection

Christ "resurrected himself" because he never really died. He just shifted form, from an apparently "material" form into a "spiritual" form. The "material, physical, and external" world is all the Mind, as is the spiritual world. So, at death, the enlightened leaves nothing behind but one "psychoholographic" world to enter another.

The mystical classic Bhagavad-Gita says that death is like changing clothes. As Jesus resurrected himself to enter the parallel universe called the "Homeworld," this is also exactly what we all do. We continue to participate actively in our lives after "death."

But, with the resurrection to immaterial Soul-life, Jesus had a special need. For he came here to demonstrate to the world that death is a survivable experience. There is life after death.

So, his special need was to materialize at least one "physical" body. On the road to Emmaeus, the disciples did not at first recognize him. So, it is possible that he materialized a body in a different form than the one he had used in his personal incarnation. But when Thomas touched his hands, he had apparently used the same body, for it still bore the marks of Crucifixion.

These bodies were only "semi-physical." He was able to walk through walls, for example, and, when he was finished, he was able to lift it into the air, into the clouds. (This is all provided that the Gospel accounts, and those of Acts, were historical, and not merely allegorical.)

Being the incarnation of the One, he was the embodiment of Love. He was also in "perfect control" of his life and his death. Paradoxically, this "perfect control" arose because he had, in Love and faith, "let go" of everything, in fullest trust of the "Father" (his highest spiritual Self). Living totally free of all anxiety, which he forbade in the "Sermon on the Mount," he lived a life of full faith, a life of actions initiated by the interior Spirit of Love. That is why he said, after all his busy life and activity, "I do nothing." For the Father of grace was doing all the work through the man Jesus.

The Allembracing Mind and Mystical Experience

The "bliss, good; no bliss, also good" is the Taoist perspective that is being developed and consciously cultivated here: If, for example, you give permission to use your latest letter, that will be very good, and will help many!:) But if you do not, that will also be good!:) ("Good" comes always in two varieties: Yes and no, black and white, an event occurs or it doesn't.) It is up to each person to figure out how it is "good" when what she does not want happens!

But if, as all mysticsaints and masterteachers agree, the world is formed from a perfect (flawless, stainless) Mind, then it too must reflect a symmetric perfection.

Cultivating the "allembracing" mind, as the Buddha called it, is one of the most challenging tasks of a seeker of enlightenment. For it means embracing lovingly, not only those things that we, and our parents, love, but also those that are despised.

This means that the kitten and puppy are good, as everyone knows, but so is the rattlesnake. The butterfly is beautiful; and so is the tarantula.
Many things that we have been programmed to reject as "bad" or "ugly"
have hidden interior goodness, with concealed beauty.:) This includes, finally, even death.

As a society, we are at last starting to move towards the cusp of the realization that, as early Christians always said, death is good, not bad. For it is as natural as the dewdrop shimmering on the rose in a shining sunrise, as natural as breathing. And it leads to a world far superior to this one-- a world, not of broken bodies, but of minds only-- minds that project "lightbodies" as real as, and far more sensual than, these poor imitations now in use.

For when the current "game" is over, we shall slip from the "sheaths" of these forms, and soar beyond the clouds, into the Milky Way. This is the greatest adventure of any life.

But we are solidly, repeatedly, gruesomely taught to fear death. If we do fear death, a pale is cast over the bright flowers, and warm sunlight, of everyday life. But it is demanded that everyone approach death with sheer terror-- an odd perspective for a "Christian" nation. For the earliest Christians did not fear, but celebrated, their deaths. (In rather unhealthy extremism, this led to the philosophy of martyrdom.)

And the famous mystic Solomon wrote, "The day of one's death is better than the day of her birth."

A Spiritual View of Death

*******

The spiritual being is not morbidly or chronically obsessed with death. She does not yearn or long for it. She does not fantasize about it. Nor is she always speaking or thinking of it. But, realistically, neither can it be ignored, nor can anyone successfully flee from it. And she does accept it as a natural part of every life-cycle. It is as natural as the sun-kissed dew upon the dawn rose.

Some are so terrified of death that they lie to themselves. They claim that their physical bodies will never die! Others are fanatics of nutrition and exercise, seeking to prolong biological life. These people are living in sheerest fantasy, rejected by the spiritually enlightened. Instead, she seeks to cultivate an accepting view of death. Although it is clearly an apparent "enemy" to biological creatures, it can be a "friend" to spiritual beings. For it leads to a life, or "afterlife," of beautiful and wonderful freedom, a life without pain, suffering, agony, or frustration.

Birth has always been a guarantee of death. Every creature ever born has died. So, death is not some "unnatural" or "astonishing" tragedy. It is an aspect of natural life, its final "crown" or glory. Those who have actually died have, for the first time in human history, been resuscitated by the thousands by biotechnology. They tell a surprisingly beautiful story of death as a survivable experience.

And those who remember anything at all tell essentially the same story: And all agree that, amazingly and contrary to philosophy and expectations of so many, the mind (consciousness or awareness) does survive after the physical death of the body.

However, spiritual beings are compassionate. We do not laugh at funerals, but cry with those who cry-- for their sakes. We are also partly biological, and we too feel the enormous, immense, vast sense of pain and loss (to our world) when any beautiful living creature leaves our world.

But the accounts of survival, brought back by those who have actually died, are just another verification of what spiritual people have taught for centuries, from Jesus to the Buddha.

So, the spiritually wise seek to embrace death in their "all-embracing" mind. They erase all fear of death, and hatred of death. In embracing God as the "all good," without negativity, they seek to expand even their Love, a gift of God's grace, to encircle even death. In this "Love of death," they can lead more peaceful and trusting lives. Jesus tells his followers to live as the birds, flowers, and nursing infants-- none of whom ever worry about, or fear, personal death.

Spiritually, as Jesus demonstrated, death is the release from this current highly imperfect, often terribly painful, life. With it, the mind soars into immeasurable freedom-- free from worry, anxiety, tension, guilt, fear, and the many assorted agonies caused by biological bodies. That deep subconscious aspect of the Mind that lived before this life, and that survives afterward, is called the "Soul," "Soul-level," or "Soulmind." Non-biological, It lives in a world of pure Mind-- of much greater beauty, balance, tranquility, bliss, and ecstasy. When we leave this world, our real life has just only begun!

Sin and Death, Love and Life

The text that says, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord," states a couple of great truths.

"Sin"-- imperfection, error, mistakes-- bring us into this world, literally. We would not even be in this particular world (dimension, universe) but for our past imperfections. So, "sin" is what brings us to the world wherein the only possible "end" of life is death.

Actually, of course, death does not destroy the higher Self (Soul) or the highest Self (Spirit). It destroys only the body, which is a complex dream-pattern within the Mind.

In the second part of this text, the word "eternal" renders a Greek adjective more accurately translated as "timeless." So, this "timeless life" of Love (enlightenment) is the "gift of God (Love)," exactly the same as is grace.

The life of time must end in death. But the timeless life of the Soul does not end in death. That is why the two make such a perfectly symmetric contrast. When God (Love) grants us access into the deep Unconscious, we discover timeless, time-free life. This is an everlasting, endless life completely outside the borders or boundaries of time. It is not limited by time, ending in death.

This occurs "through Jesus Christ." We cannot experience this higher life, even though it lives potentially within us, until we discover, and try to identify with, the deeply interior Spirit of Christ (Love or enlightenment).

Our Light-bodies After Death

*******

We know that Jesus was resurrected from the dead. One of the major reasons that he came to earth was to share the important message, "I'm going to die, and then, come back to demonstrate that death is not the end."

And he did exactly that. Ever since, followers have squabbled and bickered about exactly how he did this. There is more than one possibility.

At some point, postresurrection, he did appear in a "material" body. Does this mean that his "physical" body was resurrected? It is possible. But it is also possible (more likely, in the view of most) that he materialized a body that was an exact duplicate of his earth-body. Why would he do this? To show his friends and his disciples that it was truly he. But the the fact that he could create an illusion of a physical body, or recreate a physical form, does not imply that he continued to live in it, or was "stuck" with it for eternity. "For, when he finished using it, he could as well have simply dropped it, dematerializing it.

When we die, we are immediately found inside a "light-body." In most cases, since we are finished with the physical body, it is no more. This is especially true if the physical body has been severely wounded, torn apart, or blown up, for example.

At the moment of his death, Jesus also received a light-body. A light-body does not have the same appearance as the physical body. This is indicated by the fact that his best friend Mary saw him postresurrection, and thought him to be the gardener. Later, on the Road to Emmaeus, two disciples saw him and, at first, did not recognize him.

But, being in the afterlife plane, he could manipulate matter in several extraordinary ways, including the ability to materialize bodies of apparent flesh and blood. These could be thought of as temporary bodies, used for the specific purpose of proving that it was he.

Why, otherwise, would he need even to keep a physical body? When we unwrap a gift, or tool, or food, we throw away the wrapper. When clothing gets old enough, we dispose of it. When we are completely finished with a body, we also toss it. Some people even choose to burn the physical body (cremation) out of respect for Mother Earth.

The beautiful mystical classic called the Bhagavad-Gita says that death is exactly like changing from one garment into another. Our "new garment" is the "light-body" that appears after resurrection. A "physical body" would not only get in the way, in the afterlife world of Light, but would be quite useless.

A physical body is created from genetic material to be used in this world. It is, in every way, an "animal" body. It suffers from a wide spectrum of viral or bacterial vulnerabilities, digestion and metabolic challenges, and even structural imperfections. But the light-body given by the Lord of Love is perfect in every way. Since it is light, it does not have to process foods in the "animal way." (It can turn sunlight and starlight directly into energy for the body, for instance.

It is not weakened by limited muscles, or by chemical reactions such as stomach acid. It contains all the pleasures and senses of the physical senses, but amplified a hundredfold. But it has no biological digestive tract, as it processes light-energy directly. In the Homeworld, the afterlife state, they have thousands of the most perfect foods-- great, bright, lovely and delicious fruits, vegetables, and grains. But these are what they call "photofoods." Although exquisitely delicious, they
have no material/molecular structure,but are transformed into pure light at the moment that they are eaten. For the light-body has no digestive tract.

There is no use, anywhere in the universe, for any physical body except on physical worlds such as earth. There are billions of these worlds throughout the galaxies. But, in the Homeworld, there are also billions of worlds that do not support any "physical" bodies, for it is a cosmos of pure energy or light.
