Movie Review: "Ghostown"

This moving and touching movie, made in twenty-oh-eight, is the story of a misanthropic dentist named "Pincus," who hates almost everybody-- at least, in the beginning. But about three-quarters of the way through, he follows the advice of a fellow dentist who is Hindu, and takes a second look at his life. By then, he is already falling in Love, and so, this is the story of a miserable man who discovers the Power of, and turns to, Love to find meaning and joy in life.
The story is unique because Pincus has the ability to see souls who have departed this life, but still have strong glue-like connections with this world. Only after Pincus helps them "tie up loose ends" are they surrounded by a golden Light,, and move on to final liberation from all earthly concerns. In short, this film is highly recommended, and contains the seeds of some great truths.

We Are Color-blind!

The people of the Way, the people of Love, do not respond to the color of a person's skin. We are literally color-blind (and yes, the pun is intentional!) We have forever abandoned all the primitive and backwards racial bigotries of this spiritually arrested world.

We recognize no racial group as intrinsically superior. All people are created equal, and we are all truly Souls; and Souls have no color! So, we refuse to take sides in any racial conflict, or to support, by our words or actions, either side in any conflict.

For we love all people equally. And we know that there will, and there can, never be peace on earth until we all learn to accept all people as the equal "children of God." For we are all Love's children; we all came into the bioworld through Love.

Life-forms and Souls

There has been a wide consensus, among the most spiritual people, for millennia, that plants do not have Souls. It requires a certain level of mental development for any creature to possess and maintain an individual Soul. Lower organisms, such as bacteria, unicellular organisms, fishes, amphibians, reptiles, and birds share a group-soul for each species.

They do not have individual Souls. The personal, individual Soul is that part of Mind that appeared to "seperate" from the divine Mind to experience a "personal" life. This is, in reality, a life of illusion.

For all "sentient" life remains unseparated from the One great Mind, called in Eastern traditions "Brahman" or "Tao."

All mammals (horses, elephants, dolphins, cows, pigs, dogs, cats, and a spectrum of other life-forms) do indeed have individual Souls, survive death intact, and create and receive karma.

These life-forms are what the Buddha called "sentient" (selfaware) beings, and the enlightened show more respect for these creatures because they are, like human beings, partakers of the one Mind.
